Is there a right or wrong time for your newborn session?

To me, this is the beauty of lifestyle newborn photography - there really is no right or wrong time to have your newborn photography session. If, however, you want those really teeny tiny sleepy newborn photos, you should be looking to schedule your session in within the first 2 weeks after bub is born - that is because your newborn is usually the most sleepy during that time. However, for my style of newborn photography our session is not dependent on your baby sleeping through the entire session.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Maybe you would actually prefer to wait until bub is a little older so that you can capture them when they are a little more alert and when you can get a bit more a glimpse of their personality. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Or perhaps you had your heart set on newborn photos straight after bub was born, but factors outside of your control meant you were forced to delay your session.

Or, maybe your recovery from birth is taking a little longer than you imagined, and you just need to give yourself a bit of extra time to prepare and heal.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In those instances, I'm here to reassure you that that is absolutely *no problem* and if, for whatever reason, we do need to reschedule your session and push it back until bub is a little older - we will still be able to capture so many precious memories that you will be able to treasure forever. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Take this session for example, Isla is 3 months old and I'm sure we would have had a beautiful session if we had have done it when SHE was 5-10 days old...but IF SHE slept through the entire session, we never would have captured her beautiful smile…or the way she stares at her doting mamas. Can't you just *feel* the love between this beautiful family!? How besotted they are with one another? The strength of their bond? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Isn't that just as worthy of being captured as those tiny, sleepy newborn cuddles!?
