ABOUT JESS
I’m Jess, I am a Torquay based newborn and family photographer for families who want to preserve their memories with natural, joyful and love-filled images rather than perfectly posed, forced or staged photos.
You want a photographer that is going to make you feel at ease and relaxed while also providing you with beautiful, joyful and love filled images that you can treasure forever.
You know that this stage of parenthood is going to be over before you know it and you desperately want to capture real and meaningful moments so that you never forget them (because let’s be real here, “mum brain” is all too real and sometimes we need a little help to remember!) .

I’m married to a hilarious Kiwi (though, we’re locked in a lifelong argument about which of us is funnier) and mum to a cheeky couple of kids who are 6 and 4 years old,
When I’m not photographing adorable newborns or wonderful families, you will probably find me running around after my kids somewhere around Torquay (quite possibly looking a little sleep deprived and dishevelled!).
I love spending time with my family by the beach, or setting off on a camping adventure and exploring this beautiful part of the world which we get to call home.
SOME OTHER FUN FACTS ABOUT ME
My professional background is in Social Work. I worked for many years with asylum seekers, refugees and in youth mental health. I often get called a “bleeding heart” but I’m OK with that!
I love binge watching TV shows with ridiculous/dry humour like the office, parks & recreation & Brooklyn 99
My least favourite thing about winter is having to wear shoes and socks… I believe enclosed footwear is the equivalent of foot prison
My husband and I met on a Contiki tour when I was 19. I like to tell people we met in Paris…which is technically true but the full story is less “love at first site in front of the Eiffel tower” and more “shared a bus with 30 other random people and hung out in dodgy campsites for 3 weeks”.
I prefer to drink instant coffee over cafe coffee… please don’t tell the city of Melbourne as I fear I would be exiled from the city forever!!
I am passionate about capturing the genuine love, emotion and connections between people. I know that you want MORE than some picture perfect photo of everyone forcing a cheesy smile for the camera - you want those unique and hilarious moments that you share with one another every day captured… because those are the moments you desperately want to hold onto in the years to come.
